WashU Continuing & Professional Studies (CAPS), in partnership with T-REX, will host its second Geospatial in Motion event on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at T-REX, inviting students and community members to explore how geospatial technologies are shaping careers across industries in the St. Louis region.

The evening will feature networking, light snacks, a program overview and a panel discussion with professionals working at the intersection of geospatial data, technology and community impact.

The event will open with networking and refreshments before Dorris Scott, CAPS Academic Director of Data Studies, shares an overview of geospatial offerings, including the new Applied GeoAI Certificate. Attendees will then hear from a panel moderated by Dr. Nathanael Bassett, T-REX Tearline Director, featuring industry professionals Caleb Buffa of Esri, Trey Quinn of St. Louis Neighborhood Foresters and Jason Baker of Booz Allen.

The discussion will highlight real-world applications of geospatial technologies, emerging career pathways and the diverse ways GIS and GeoAI are used across sectors. The evening will conclude with additional networking time, giving attendees the opportunity to connect directly with speakers and peers.
