WashU Continuing & Professional Studies (CAPS) staff and their loved ones recently gathered at scenic Shaw Park for a delightful end-of-summer picnic.

This fun-filled event was made possible through funds awarded to the school for its success in helping to transition to Workday Student. Providing the team with much-needed time to unwind and connect outside of the office.

The picnic kicked off with an array of food trucks offering a variety of treats, including the fresh flavors of traditional gyros, savory slices of made-to-order wood-fired pizza, and refreshing treats from the Kona Ice truck. There was something to please every palate!

With plenty of food to choose from and a gentle breeze drifting through the pavilion, CAPS staff had a perfect atmosphere to relax, unwind and build the types of relationships that can only be forged outside of the office. Many staff chose to spend their time relaxing, filling the pavilion with laughter and conversation, sharing stories and enjoying the beautiful late-summer day.

Others ventured into the park where a rowdy game of sand volleyball took center stage.

After some spirited rallies and impressive dives (not to mention a nearly-needed eye wash incident), the match ultimately concluded in a good-natured series tie, leaving everyone smiling and perhaps a little out of breath.

For those seeking a more relaxed pace, friendly games of bags and ladder golf were also underway, fostering camaraderie and playful competition.

The picnic served as a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the team’s hard work and dedication in a relaxed and informal setting.

It was a fitting way to bid farewell to summer and create lasting memories together, setting the staff up for success as another school year begins.
